Our Services

At our organization, we are dedicated to serving the needs of the community. We offer a wide range of programs and services to meet the unique needs of individuals and families in the greater Atlanta area.

Food Distribution

KASA has partnered with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to expand their food distribution program, specifically targeting Asian American communities. Through this collaboration, KASA has increased the quantity of food they distribute, benefiting the Asian American population in Gwinnett County. To meet the growing demand for their services, KASA is hiring additional staff and consolidating their distribution vehicles to improve efficiency. With strong community partnerships and a larger distribution capacity, KASA’s food distribution program is poised to make a substantial impact. Their goal is to reach over 750 individuals monthly, ultimately benefiting nearly 10,000 minority residents in Gwinnett County. This expanded reach will allow KASA to provide essential food assistance to a larger number of individuals and families in need, making a meaningful difference in their lives.

Education for Immigrant seniors

KASA prioritizes educational opportunities for immigrant seniors, focusing on English language acquisition and civic education. They offer language classes to improve communication skills and facilitate integration into society. Civic education programs promote seniors’ rights and responsibilities, encouraging their active participation in community decision-making. KASA collaborates with the Gwinnett County Voter Registrations and Elections team to raise awareness and engage immigrant seniors in the voting process. Cultural orientation programs assist seniors in adapting to American customs and traditions. While currently without a senior center, KASA aspires to establish the first Asian American Senior Center in Gwinnett County.

KASA’s Health and Wellness Education Program provides essential health information and offers technology classes to enhance digital skills. They also provide education on legal rights and immigration, ensuring seniors are aware of their protections. KASA is dedicated to empowering immigrant seniors and supporting their smooth integration into American society.

Priorities and Strategies in 2024

We are expanding our operations in Gwinnett County, increasing manpower, vehicles, and community partnerships to serve a larger number of individuals. Renovations to our infrastructure and implementation of an operational system will enhance efficiency. We have introduced a new education program and resumed programs that were paused during the pandemic to address evolving community needs. Guided by our highly experienced Executive Director, we are optimizing our distribution process by consolidating vehicles into a single 22-foot box truck. The estimated cost of acquiring the box truck is between $85,000 and $100,000. As an authorized agent of the President’s Volunteer Service Award, we have a dedicated coordinator overseeing a team of over 20 regular volunteers and 50 on-call volunteers. Volunteer sign-ups have increased as our organization gains recognition.
